Security Express was established as part of Armourguard in 1987. In 1994, Security Express was separated from Armourguard and re-introduced to the industry as a specialised brand providing a secure transport service for valuable items, confidential documents and cash transfer operating under the Messenger Services division of Freightways.
Armourguard was later sold to an American based company in 1997.
The company’s exclusive use of use of Department of Justice licensed security guards throughout its operation, and the provision of up to NZ$20,000.00 insurance for any one consignment, give Security Express a leading edge in the industry. These two defining points of difference, when compared to other companies, have contributed to the company’s success over the years.
All the company’s security contractors drive late model, fully secure vehicles. They are constantly monitored via secure radio/telephone and full security procedures are employed at all times.
Security Express operates in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch with coverage in all other centres through its sister companies and company alliances within the Freightways Group.
